Plane Landing in Nashville Rolls off Runway into a Ditch, injuring 8.

A Southwest Airlines plane swerved into a ditch after rolling  off the runway on Tuesday at the Nashville, Tenn., airport according to witnesses and officials said.

Eight people on board the plane suffered minor injuries and are presently receiving treatment in a hospital. Nashville Fire Department spokesman Brian Haas revealed to the Daily News.

A statement released by  airline said; there were 133 passengers and five crew aboard.

According to Associated Press; The Boeing 737 rolled into a grassy ditch around 5:20 p.m. local time near the C concourse at the Nashville International Airport. The plane was taxiing to its gate in Nashville after flying in from Houston Hobby

 Airport, a Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman told the News.

"Passengers left the aircraft via stairs and were bussed to the terminal," Kathleen Bergen said in a statement.

"The FAA is investigating."

It's unclear how many passengers and crew were aboard the plane
